What choice do we have?

In case you didn’t know this is life, a pot of contradictories and a place to get lost. But most importantly this is life where you have to make your own choices.
Life -as you may have noticed- is like a maze, it’s a series of linked cross roads that can eventually lead you to one “state” or the exact opposite, and it all depends on your choices. And the fun part about all this is that you don’t have the luxury of assessing your choices the moment you make them, you have to find out the hard way. Yet there are some “signs” along the way that may help you decide, and if you are smart you can read this signs to reach whatever that you are trying to achieve because -newsflash- you have one life and one chance to make this work. Some other times when you come to a cross road and you think it is time to choose you find yourself drifted in one way for some reason that is out of your hand. Initially you have no choice but to go with the flow, but what about later??? And what about the times when you get to make the choice but things don’t go along quite well???
I guess this leaves us with two rather unpleasant situations to talk about, in one of them you are standing in the cross road not knowing which way to go, in the other one you are already half way to a goal that you are not sure that it is yours.
So what do you do in crossroads??? Do you trust your guts??? Do you weigh pros and cons??? Do you just jump in??? Do you avoid taking decisions for yourself and let someone else to do it for you??? My personal experience tells me…. nothing. Being my age I didn’t really have much of experience in my life... yet.  Only once did I face a major crossroad, and –to put it in a less harsh way- I got some advice and it turned out great. Though I don’t regret the choice, I wish I could have been able to take it on my own. I doubt that this will work for everyone out there cause this needs close people who are both faithful and with good sense of judgment and let’s face it those are not the kind of quality that are abundant out in the real world.
What about half the way??? It is really a harsh feeling when you aren’t sure that you are pursuing your dream and it seems that all your work was a waste of effort and time and anything else you invest in this dream will be a kind foolishness; however letting go of what have been achieved is the absolute dumbness. Let me tell you something, if I made it this far, I’d better take it all the way to the end. But again it’s just me.
If you reach these lines and you didn’t find an answer to your question... that is completely normal because what I am offering here is not an answer to a question, it’s merely a personal experience that is not necessarily true or valid for everyone out there. If you are capable of choosing for yourself that’s fine, if you depend on others advice that’s not bad. If you stop midway and turn back that’s no problem, if you take it all way to the ends it’s ok. However you must always remember that it is not only a decision made, it is also fate.
